FAQ’S

  • Absolutely, we strongly recommend it! Booking in advance secures your spot in the class. Plus, it's a win-win – you get to join the session you want, and it helps us and our teachers plan effectively, keeping everything running smoothly at check-in. Don’t forget: you've got up to 4 hours before the class to cancel if needed, so there's flexibility built in.

  • There is a class for everyone at The Yoga Rooms! Please take a look at our class descriptions.

If you are new to Yoga, we recommend starting with one of our Back2Basic or Slow Flow classes. Our Back2Basics classes are not only an overall introduction to our studio offerings but also teach you the essential foundations to attend our Vinyasa Flow classes with confidence.

If you are new to Reformer, we recommend starting with our Align classes. You will learn the fundamentals of Reformer Pilates and how to safely move your body on the Reformer machine.

You can find more about our class styles here.

  • For our Yoga classes, just yourself and possibly some water! Mats are always free at The Yoga Room and Pilates and we also offer blocks, bolsters, straps, blankets and eye pillows.

For our Reformer classes, we require you to wear grip socks to attend. We sell some beautiful designs by MOVEACTIVE at the studio in case you forget yours or like to add a new pair to your collection!

We do not sell bottled water, but we do have a filtered water fountain in the studio.

  • Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class.  This will allow enough time for registration and a brief orientation or questions before class begins if you are attending for the first time. Bookings can be made via the MINDBODY app. Please book in person at the reception desk only as a last resort.

Doors open 15 minutes prior to the class start time.

  • Unfortunately, we do not accept late students. We like to respect the time of the students and also of our teachers. Our door downstairs will be locked on time, this is for the safety of your belongings and to avoid interruption during class. Please be aware of this policy and plan accordingly.

  • We understand that life can be unpredictable, but we kindly ask that you respect our class capacity and fellow students. If you're unable to attend a class you've signed up for, please cancel your reservations up to 4 hours before.

If you miss to cancel within the 4 hour cancellation window or do not show you will forfeit your class on any yoga package/membership.

We've introduced a $18 no-show/late-cancel fee for all of our Reformer classes to discourage multiple sign-ups without attendance, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to practise with us.

  • MINDBODY waitlist function allows you to waitlist a spot in an already full class. When a spot in the class becomes available, the first person on the waitlist will be automatically moved into the class up to 1h before class starts. Spaces that are cancelled inside our 4-hour cancellation window will be charged the usual late fee and the space will be made available for anyone to book online. If you have added yourself to the waitlist and a spot frees up less than 1 hour before class starts you will not be automatically enrolled from the waitlist into class but are free to book any spots that become available during this period.

In order to utilize the waitlist function you must have your ’Schedule Updates’ text and email notifications turned on. You will receive both an email and an SMS when you are booked into a class via the waitlist. From this notification, you can confirm or cancel the booking. To cancel your booking you need to respond ‘N’ more than 4 hours before the start of class to avoid a late cancellation or no-show charge. Please note, if you don’t confirm the booking the system will still consider you booked into the class as the spot is held for you. If you do not confirm your booking and do not show up for class you will be charged the no-show fee and the space will be available for walk-ins as per our Cancellation Policy.

Please be mindful of this when booking the waitlist for early morning classes as you may be automatically enrolled into a class during the night up until 4 hours before the start of class! Please treat the waitlist like you are booking a class. If you have added yourself to the waitlist and no longer want to attend the class, please cancel the waitlisted classes via your Account (Account Schedule).

  • Our Yin and Restorative classes are capped at 28 students, all other classes hold up to 32 students. At times teachers offer assistance during class, however, you will always be asked for consent for any hands-on assistance. Please don't hesitate to ask us about this if you have any questions or concerns regarding assistance.

  • Parking is free in the parking lot in front of the studio and also on most of the surrounding streets near the studio. Although we do have a lot of parking options, it can get busy during peak hours, please make sure to allow for enough time.

  • Yes, we highly recommend booking classes in advance via Mindbody to secure your spot. Many of our classes get full or waitlisted and we would be sad to turn you away. To make the sign-in process seamless please only book class at the reception as a last resort.

  • Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a childminding service and cannot allow children to join classes or wait in the reception area.

Please note that participants must be at least 14 years old to join our classes.

  • That depends. What did your doctor/physical therapist/provider say?

While we'd like to tell you that yoga will always heal you, we simply can't make those kinds of promises. Many students find yoga to be a helpful resource for injury management but it depends on the specifics and severity. Please consult with your doctor/physical therapist/bodyworker and let your teacher know what is going on so that we can work through any necessary modifications for class.

We are here to help, but we are not qualified to diagnose any injuries or illnesses so your physician and your own intuition are the first lines of defence when working with an injury.

  • That depends. What did your doctor say?

While more and more healthcare professionals are recommending yoga to women during pregnancy (which is great!), the general rule of thumb is not to start anything brand new during pregnancy.

If you've had a steady practice before pregnancy, likely you'll be able to enjoy continuing your practice throughout - but if you've never stepped on a yoga mat or Reformer before, now may not be the best time to jump into a vigorous Vinyasa or reformer class. We'd recommend you integrate yoga and pilates into your pregnancy with either our Reformer Align, Slow Flow, Back2Basics, Yin Restorative, Yoga Nidra or if a pre and/or post-natal offering should arise.

  • Of course! Working one-on-one is a great way to delve into the unique needs of your practice with a teacher. Please reach out to us so we can plan your 1:1 or group session for you.

Rates depend on teacher and group size.

  • Yes, we do offer on-site and off-site group yoga classes. Please get in touch via email to discuss.

  • We would love for you to take a photo before or after class, but please ensure you stow your devices switched off or on silent and other belongings not needed during class outside of the space before class starts.
